Clinical Pilates involves utilising Pilates and functional movement based exercises to create a program tailored specifically for you. Based on your injury and goals, we can help with rehabilitation, pain management, and overall strength and flexibility. Unlike studio Pilates, Clinical Pilates is customised to your individual needs and is often used to target specific issues, such as a sore knee or a stiff back. By focusing on strength, mobility and balance through controlled movements, we help you exercise safely, manage and prevent injuries.

At Shenton Quarter Physio, we offer individual 1:1 Clinical Pilates sessions or have small group classes of 3 people. Health fund rebates apply to these classes.

Dry needling in Shenton Park

Dry Needling

Our physiotherapists are highly trained in dry needling techniques, which may play an important part in your recovery. Dry needling is often referred to as “clinical or western acupuncture”, where an acupuncture needle is inserted into soft tissue to relieve muscular tightness and pain, and to promote healing. Dry needling is not intended to replace more conventional treatment methods such as physiotherapy or surgery but can be used in conjunction with these treatment options to accelerate pain reduction, healing and the restoration of normal tissue function. Dry needling is an increasingly popular treatment technique, with the body of scientific evidence for it’s clinical use growing.

Exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation is an important in optimising your strength, mobility, as this will facilitate an improvement in your pain and function and overall health. Exercise can also reduce your chance of requiring surgery in some cases. If surgery is required, a comprehensive exercise program will significantly improve your post-operative outcomes and accelerate your recovery process.  Our physiotherapists are able to provide individualised rehabilitation for a wide range of conditions, including before or after joint replacement, reconstruction surgery, spinal surgeries, rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, ACL reconstructions, meniscal repairs or ligament repairs of the shoulder, knee and ankle.
